Whats is teeth whitening? How does it work?
Teeth whitening, also know as teeth bleaching, is a conservative and effective method to lighten discolored teeth. Through introduction of mild concentration of hydrogen peroxide that interacts with organic chromophores within the tooth structure, altering their optical properties and reducing their stained appearance.
Teeth whitening / bleaching is generally safe, but some patients may experience tooth sensitivity after bleaching. But this can be resolved by applying some desensitizing agent containing fluoride.
How long does teeth whitening / bleaching last?
This question about teeth whitening / bleaching is asked very frequently. But honestly, there is no exact answer to it. As different patient has different teeth properties and having different lifestyles that may affect the lasting of the treatment. So, it is always advisable to maintain your teeth by using teeth whitening home-kit and teeth whitening toothpaste.
How long is the teeth whitening / bleaching procedure?
Here in abc Dental Center, we offer various teeth whitening options. For the Express teeth whitening option, it takes 15-20 mins, giving an immediate result. The In-Office option that we offer will take at least 45 mins, which involves 3 cycles of teeth whitening, ensuring a guranteed result. As for the teeth whitening Home-Kit, user is required to wear it daily for 1 and half hours to achieve good result.
To what extent should you go for teeth whitening?
There is no guide as to how white you should whiten your teeth. But we would advise to match the whiteness of your teeth to the colour of your sclera ( white portion of your eyes), to give a more harmony appearance.
What type of teeth whitening facilities do we provide at abc dental center?
We have 3 methods of teeth whitening. the first method is the In-Office bleaching method, The process of teeth whitening takes about 1 hour. The teeth whitening home kit will come with a mouth tray and 6 tubes of teeth whitening gel. Application will last from 2 hours to overnight. At abc dental center we provide an express option for teeth whitening as well. It only takes about 15-20 minutes and the teeth whitening effect in certain cases lasts up to 6 months.
How long will teeth whitening lastfor me?
There are certain food that you should avoid as they have been known to stained teeth such as curry, caffeinated drinks and wine. Having the habit of rinsing your mouth following eating and drinking will have good lasting effect too. There are also whitening toothpastes that can prolong the effects of teeth whitening.

Will whitening cause tooth sensitivity?

At abc dental center Jb we provide you a take home whitening set which is a professional whitening treatment that is so powerful and effective it is only dispensed by dentists. Proven successful at providing dramatic, long lasting results, it has received many awards in the dental world.
How does this take-home teeth whitening kit work?
Your dentist will custom made a tray that fits over your teeth. Whitening gel in syringe is given. Add the gel onto the tray and wear them for a period of time, according to dentist's instruction.
How long do you have use the teeth whitening kit?
The length of time you need to wear the take home teeth whitening kit will vary depending on your unique circumstances and the concentration of whitening gel used. As a start, we will advise to wear the tray that contains the gel for 2 hours. The following day, wear it for 4 hours. If you do not experience any sensitivity, you can wear it overnight, to have a better whitening effect.
How is the take home teeth whitening kit different from other whitening treatments, over-the-counter and professional?
Over-the-counter whitening treatments such as whitening strips, can lighten teeth. But for optimal results, you want to rely on a professional treatment.
